Recipe: Pie Crust
Ingredients
- 2.5 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup butter, chilled, cut into 1” pieces
- 1/4 – 1/2 cup cold water
Instructions
- In food processor, combine salt, flour and sugar
- Add butter, process until it resembles course meal (15 seconds)
- Pour water in slowly until dough just holds together (no more than 30 seconds)
- Turn the dough out, form into a ball
- Flatten into a disk, cover with plastic wrap, refrigerate for one hour
- Remove, roll into a 12” circle, lifting and turning
- Transfer to pan, trim edges, cover with plastic, return to fridge
- Create filling
- Let crust sit at room temperature 10 minutes
- Fill pie, bake
